Things haven’t been looking good for rising Toronto rapper Top5 lately. In May, he was charged with first-degree murder, for the death of 20-year-old Hashim Omar Hashi. Top5 has since been on the run from authorities. Hashi was reportedly shot and killed, back on January 31, according to the Toronto Sun.
Toronto’s Mayor, John Tory, has since called out Top5’s refusal to turn himself in.
“I know the devastation and trauma that murders in our city have caused families and neighborhoods and it is very troubling to know someone charged with murder has so far not made himself available to the authorities.”
Top5 doesn’t appear to be bothered at all, though. He went on Instagram Live with his friend, looked carefree, and even said that he runs Toronto. At the same time though, Top5 is open to meeting with Tory. This is all while calling the Mayor a “goof.”
“You guys wanna link up? Call John Tory and tell him I f****** want a sit-down for f****** 30 minutes. I wanna spit my facts, and he’ll spit his facts. I run Toronto, you f****** goof.”
In the end, it’ll be interesting to see if Top5 decides to finally turn himself in at all. He continues to claim that he is innocent in this case.
