You broke the law, and you got caught
Got a good lawyer, the case is being fought
Life is full of choices; make them at the crossroads
If you had five, you already lost four
Straight apprehended, handcuffed, and can’t stand it
Don’t want to go to jail, but you were caught redhanded
A felony, strike number two
Federal Agents like, “What do you want to do?”
Too Short: “Tell The Feds”
When the FBI is involved, that means bad things are about to go down for someone.
In the case of Deshaun Watson vs. The IG Model Massage Therapists, no one knows for sure who the Feds are aiming their pistols at. If you were to believe Watson’s accusers’ lawyer Tony Buzbee the Feds are looking into the possibility of Watson being a sex trafficker because he found women in other states and flew the in for massages that ended in sexual activity.
If you believe Watson’s lawyer Rusty Hardin the Feds are looking into Watson’s accusers for trying to extort him by threatening to sue him or go to cops and lie about consensual sexual activities that happened during massages.
They may be looking into both or something totally different. It is also possible in the end; they will decide nothing happened that warrants their involvement.
For those of you confused why specifically the FEDS would care that Watson was getting the Robert Kraft special from women he met on IG, Amy Dash from The LEAGUE OF JUSTICE gives the 5 reasons they could be looking into Watson.
- The person used interstate or foreign commerce to achieve their objective (use of the internet or transporting someone across state lines counts);
- The person trafficked someone. Note: Trafficking doesn’t just mean transporting. It can mean any ONE of the following: recruits, entices, harbors, transports, provides, obtains, advertises, maintains, patronizes, or solicits by any means a person;
- The person must intend or know that they plan to cause their target to engage in a paid sex act by using any ONE of the following: force, threats of force, fraud, coercion, or any combination of such means.
- The person then causes someone to engage in a sex act by using force, threats of force, fraud, coercion, or any combination of the above.
- And either money or something of value is given in exchange for the sex act
League of Justice has a full explainer of the law regarding how this could come down on Watson from either a Federal or State level.
The extortion part is pretty cut and dry. If it can be proven any of these women were using the threat of an accusation to get money out of Watson, they could also be charged with a Federal or State crime.
On the BSO Substack, we also have some exclusive details on how Watson is trying to handle potential new accusers.
Who do you believe?
