Allyssa Brooke’s teenage son, Nick, was recently playing a pickup basketball game at the gym, but things took a terrifying turn for the worst. Nick got hit with a very hard flagrant foul and confronted the player who committed it.
Suddenly, someone else came running onto the court and then punched Nick in the face. This resulted in his jaw being broken in three different areas, sustained a concussion, along with whiplash. TMZ also reported that Nick developed a “baseball-sized lump” in the back of his head.
Doctors believe that there may be internal bleeding in Nick’s brain, and Brooke recently told 11 Alive in Atlanta that Nick is fed liquids through a syringe, and his jaw is wired shut for six weeks. She also called out the people who just stood and watched Nick get attacked.
“I don’t expect everybody to be a hero and run in to save the day if that’s not your style. But, to laugh and applaud, and cheer, that’s not humanity.”
In addition to the jaw injuries, Nick has to wear braces for six months to realign his teeth. The attacker of Nick has since been charged with assault as a juvenile. Brooke and her husband, Robbie, ended up telling TMZ Live that Nick is getting better and is now drinking through a straw instead of a syringe. His jaw is still wired shut until mid-September.
