A Maryland man brutally assaulted his wife of three years after she FaceTimed him while having sex with another man inside a car parked near a hotel in Pennsylvania.
According to a felony complaint, 34-year-old William Atkinson received a series of explicit calls from his spouse on September 21st and immediately enlisted a friend to drive him to the hotel’s parking lot to confront her.
Upon his arrival at the Best Western in Somerset, Atkinson found his 32-year-old wife and her alleged lover who savagely beat both of them up.
After beating his wife and her lover, he fled the scene. The women – who police describe as ‘extremely intoxicated’ and uncooperative with officers upon their arrival at the scene. She had suffered severe bruising and bleeding profusely from her face, nose, and mouth.
What’s more, she was described as ‘struggling to breathe and crying for help.’ After police apprehended Atkinson, he explained that the pair had been ‘egging him on’ with the vulgar video calls.
Atkinson told authorities that he only hit his wife with an open hand.
Say what you want both no party is in the right here. The woman was completely wrong for egging in Atkinson, and when they found him, one of his shoes was soaked in blood.
Atkinson was charged with aggravated assault and reckless endangerment, a felony, and a misdemeanor, respectively. Despite this, it is his wife that has an alarming criminal past.
In 2016, the unnamed woman was cuffed for attempted murder after an argument with a boyfriend ended in gunfire. The man was not hit after she fired a single shot inside a residence in Cumberland, Maryland. She later pleaded guilty to reckless endangerment and was sentenced to two years of probation.
The fact she only got probation for trying to murder her boyfriend says a lot about our justice system.
It is unclear whether Atkinson was the woman’s boyfriend at the time.
