DeMar DeRozan had his first game as a member of the Bulls last night, and it went well for him and the team as they got a win against the Pistons.
Off the court, he found a really nice house to stay in while he’s a Bull, and it has a small connection to Bulls legend Michael Jordan.
According to the Chicago Tribune, the house he bought was from Michael Jordan’s ex-wife Juanita.
DeRozan paid about $220,000 less than Jordan had bought the mansion for in 2007. The mansion has six full bathrooms, three half-bathrooms, four fireplaces, a five-stop elevator, a recreation and billiard room, a theater room, a wine cellar, a library, a three-car heated garage and a roof deck measuring 27 feet by 70 feet with an outdoor kitchen, grill and fireplace.
Jordan listed the mansion in June for $4.98 million. She went under contract to sell the mansion Sept. 30, and a closing followed five days later.
The mansion had an $89,793 property tax bill in the 2020 tax year. It also has $199-a-month homeowners association dues.
It is a $4.5 million house with 6 rooms and 10,179 square feet.
Jimmy Butler use to live on the same block. Juanita had plenty of money to buy the place back in the day after receiving $168 million divorce settlement. Jordan paid because he didn’t want Juanita to spill all the secrets she knew about Jordan.
