The things people do to become viral.
In this episode of ‘who wants to be a clout chaser,’ today’s subject is a man who goes by the Instagram name ‘Jumaane’ went viral after working at a Subway in Providence, RI, he decided to destroy the restaurant by throwing around food.
The videos, posted on YouTube, show Jumanne laying out silver tubs of Subway sandwich ingredients on the floor. He then walks on the food.
He then walks across the food before putting the tubs back onto shelves behind the counter. Another video showed Jumanne saying “f*** Subway” before throwing bread on the ground.
Jumanne spoke with Daily Mail about the outrageous video.
“Unfortunately, I’m a content creator, so I create controversial videos to be able to potentially monetize my audience on YouTube and other social media platforms,” he said. “I just reached a point where I decided I would be willing to take a higher risk for a higher reward. There’s a lot of consequences within creating controversy but I accept whatever happens.”
Jumanne took some of Subway’s famous deli meat and placed it on the ground and the toilet seat in the other videos. Jumanne said he left his job this week, and when his boss, who was mad, gave him a call, he didn’t have a straight answer for him.
“The owner called me and was obviously feeling angry and disrespected. He basically asked why I did it but I didn’t give him much of a response.”
Hopefully, Jumanne sought the clout he was looking for, but if his budding YouTube/social media career doesn’t pan out, with how many places are hiring, I’m sure he’ll find something.
