Kyle Kuzma is with the Wizards and is thriving.
He’s having the best season of his career, averaging 15 points and 9 rebounds while playing some decent defense, also while the Wizards are currently one of the best teams in the NBA.
Kyle Kuzma hit a go-ahead 3-pointer with 12 seconds left as the Washington Wizards scored the final five points in a 97-94 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday night.
Kuzma scored 12 of his 22 points in the fourth quarter, including two 3-pointers in the final 26 seconds. Montrezl Harrell led the Wizards with 24 points and 11 rebounds. Bradley Beal had 13 points, seven rebounds and seven assists.
“We had no business winning that game with the lack of energy we played with in the first 3 1/2 quarters,” said Kuzma, who was 4 of 5 beyond the arc in the fourth. “For us to pick up a win like that, it’s a big moral victory.”
“It was the fans’ fault they lost, really,” Kuzma said. “There was a sign that said, ‘LeBron won Kuzma his ring,’ and they were just talking too much. Well, I told those guys, ‘Without LeBron, Cleveland wouldn’t be crap.'”
Before he was traded, though, he was able to help the team win a championship with Lebron at the helm.
All of that still doesn’t stop people from taking shots at him. Including a Cleveland news station who described him as “won a championship thanks to LeBron James.”
Kuz didn’t think too much of it and instead reminded Cleveland that he and they had that in common.
One has to give credit where credit is due. People thought without LeBron that Kuz would just be an average player, but he is proving them wrong and has the Wizards cooking in the EAST. The number of quality players the Wizards got in the Russell Westbrook deal seems to be paying off.
