To say the Kansas City Chiefs have underperformed on offense would be an understatement. Behind a weak running game and some sloppy moments from star QB Patrick Mahomes, the criticism they are receiving from the media is all but justified.
One known suspect is not happy with the criticism her fiancee and his team are receiving. Brittany Matthews, Patrick Mahomes’ fiancee, spoke up for his man on Twitter, calling it ‘comical’ and ‘weird’ that everyone is criticizing Mahomes and the Chiefs.
“Saying Patrick is broken is ignorant. Saying the Chiefs’ offense is boring is comical,” Matthews tweeted.
Matthews also had some words for ESPN’s Ryan Clark after he made an appearance on the network’s morning show, ‘Get Up,‘ and called Mahomes ‘broken.’
I’m not a fan of the Mahomes clan at all, but Brittany may have a point. After the Chiefs beatdown, the Las Vegas Raiders 41-14 Sunday night put the Chiefs back to the top of the AFC West and back into the playoff conversation. Mahomes had an amazing game, finishing with 35-for-50 with 406 passing yards and had five touchdown passes.
Patrick Mahomes scrambled away from pressure as he ran toward the line of scrimmage and launched a deep ball that turned a seemingly broken play into a touchdown.
The Mahomes of old was back Sunday night and the Kansas City Chiefs are back at their usual spot atop the division.
Mahomes threw five touchdown passes and returned to his usual form after a surprisingly shaky stretch this season, and the Chiefs raced past the Las Vegas Raiders 41-14 on Sunday night.
“We’ve done it before,” Mahomes said. “We’ve done it these last few seasons we were doing at the beginning of this season. We were moving the ball and making a lot of stuff happen. We were just turning the ball over. Then we kind of went through a little little spell where we weren’t making these drives and we were still finding ways to win. I knew that we’re going to click back into it.”
Without question, there was something broken with the Chiefs offense, nothing wrong with saying that, but you knew that Matthews couldn’t wait to give her two cents, but at least it wasn’t a TikTok.
