Jake Paul On Rumors That His Fight Against Tyron Woodley Only Sold 65K PPVs

YouTube sensation Jake Paul has responded to rumors that his fight against Tyron Woodley only sold 65K pay-per-views, and his response is on the heels of Jorge Masvidal jabbing him for selling just 65k pay-per-views in his rematch against Tyron Woodley.

Total Pro Sports:

While YouTube sensation Jake Paul is eyeing bouts with UFC welterweight stars Jorge Masvidal and Nate Diaz after a sixth-round knockout of Tyron Woodley earlier this month, there was a viral report that his last fight completely bombed with viewers.

Jorge Masvidal brought major attention to it when he took a jab at Paul for selling just 65k pay-per-views in his rematch against Tyron Woodley that transpired on December 18th.

As reported by boxing insider Steven Muehlhausen, the Paul-Woodley rematch garnered less than 65,000 buys on cable and satellite pay-per-view.

After seeing all the hoola on social media about the PPV numbers, Paul eventually had to speak on it, and revealed that it was not his best “business night,” but it did way more than the reported 65,000 buys.

BSO sources say once you add in the streaming numbers, it was over 100k, close to 200k, but not close to the 500k that he did in the first fight.

The majority of Paul’s audience is more likely to stream a PPV than get it via a stream than traditional cable box PPV.

In a few years, I figured streaming PPV numbers will overtake traditional cable PPV numbers, so you can’t determine the success of a PPV just on the traditional cable box numbers these days.

With that being said, Paul and Woodley still made a lot more money than any UFC fighter has made in 2021, so that is something to think about, considering the buys were that low. So, Masvidal really shouldn’t be trying to take a sh*t on Paul.
