Jalen Rose and Molly Qerim are bringing their marriage to an end, and I hope they go through it without fights and drama, as it usually happens in the industry.
Jalen has released a statement after filing for divorce from Molly Qerim, and according to him, they were separated for one year before taking a firm decision to end things.
Here is what Jalen Rose posted on his Twitter handle:
“After being separated for almost a year, Molly and I have officially decided to go our separate ways. We both agree remaining friends and colleagues is the best course of action for our relationship going forward. Please respect our privacy at this time.”
Via Total Pro Sports:
The ESPN couple had been married for just under two years from when the divorce was filed. According to a new report from TMZ Sports, Rose filed for divorce on April 30th. “Jalen says in court docs the marriage broke down irretrievably after Qerim moved to Connecticut”.
Their Instagram accounts pretty much show that they haven’t been rocking with each other on a personal level just as Rose stated. Qerim hasn’t spoken out, but she has removed his name from all platforms.
Qerim, 37, was named a co-host of “First Take” in 2015. Rose, 48, joined ESPN shortly after retiring, and has been an analyst on “NBA Countdown” since 2012, among other things.
BSO reported that neither Rose nor Qerim are seeking alimony or spousal support. There was a prenuptial agreement, but it doesn’t appear Molly plans to make the divorce messy. They didn’t have any kids together while they were married, so there are no child support issues.
It has to be tough to work with someone that you were married to and now are getting a divorce from, but it still appears to be a lot of love between the two of them, and if you do have to break up, you want it to be as amicable as possible.
I wish the best for both of them.
