Fat Joe says that Jay-Z’s ‘Feelin It’ line off his album is the ‘Hardest Lyric in Hip-Hop,’ and he said this during his appearance on the I Am Athlete podcast. The line goes, “If every n***a in your clique is rich, your clique is rugged/Nobody will fall ’cause everyone will be each other’s crutches).”
It makes sense because you are only as strong as the people around you. You can have a $10 million house, but if the foundation is weak, the house eventually will sink.
I thought it was refreshing to hear Joe honestly talk about his beef with Jay was because of jealousy. Here is what Joey Crack had to say about Jay always winning.
You know what happens man … uh you know there’s a little bit of jealousy involved. You know what I’m saying … the man was always winning. I might have been a little jealous if I’m gonna be a man about it. You know what i’m saying? He won at everything. He had the baddest chick in the world.
The Rucker [Rucker Park] is part of the streets. That was the streets in the summertime — and out of nowhere here comes this Jay after I win five ‘chips in a row — he wants a team!
I was like ‘Goddamn’ … he want everything! he walking in the games with Beyonce, Puffy doing the dance in the middle of the court. I’m like what the f*ck is this!? They rolling up in professional tour buses … LeBron was about to play with him.
And i said, ‘Damn man! This man got all the money, the baddest chick, he the biggest in the game. I got the little street tournament and the man coming in this year! And so it was a little bit of jealousy even though my team was dead ass for real.
The Rucker had slightly fell off before I got back involved so I was bringing NBA players, hyping this up. Bringing rappers. I built this back up right so there’s thousands of people out there and here come my man … he come up hopping up in there yeah you know what i’m saying. He’s got Puff Daddy literally shucking and jiving, literally.
Yeah I’m walking out we win the game [to get to the next round of the tournament], they on the next game and I’m walking back and Puffy’s dancing, Beyonce walking in … this shit is crazy and so uh and and and so the game that never happened!
Joe goes on to say he felt bad about but the next time he says Jay, Jay gave him a big hug and squashed the beef right there.
