Matt Ryan’s wife Sarah Ryan has reacted to the Colts acquiring her husband, and she’s grateful to the Atlanta community and the Falcons fanbase.
Sarah Ryan retweeted a farewell video from Falcons to Matt Ryan and wrote:
“I’m not crying, you’re crying. Forever thankful for this team, fan base and city.”
Awesemo has details.
It was announced on Monday afternoon that the Colts were acquiring the veteran quarterback — with the Falcons signing Marcus Mariota to fill the void shortly thereafter. While Matt Ryan will likely be happy to be moving to a team who’s more so in “win now” mode than the Falcons, he’ll still have fond memories from all of his years in Atlanta.
And when the team posted a farewell video to the QB, Sarah Ryan took to social media to send her love to the Atlanta community. Matt Ryan has yet to react to the Colts trade, but we’re expecting him to drop a lengthy post in gratitude any time now.
While the Falcons were reportedly going after Deshaun Watson earlier in the offseason, Ryan’s sister-in-law slammed the team for their lack of transparency. And even though Ryan and his wife will have a bunch of memories to take with them to Indy, they’ll likely embrace the challenge in front of them.
This trade can go one of two ways. Usually, when a veteran QB leaves a city he has been at for a long time, he will either thrive with a new team or flame out immediately. There doesn’t seem to be any middle ground. Ryan could have a nice little tenure with the Colts are be out of a job by next year.
The Colts have a good core, but the AFC is stacked, so we will have to see what happens. It will be interesting either way it goes.
