Lamar Jackson has put smiles on the faces of kids at his old elementary school by surprising them with signed jerseys and books and that is a good thing everyone should emulate. Never forget where you started and always be grateful to your alma mater.
TMZ Sports has more;
The Baltimore Ravens star pulled up to his former Cypress Elementary stomping grounds in Florida to deliver the gifts … and in pics from his visit, you can see everyone was thrilled to hang with the quarterback.
Lamar personalized autographs on some of the Ravens jerseys he brought for the kids … and he also handed out copies of his children’s book, “I Dream, You Dream, Let Us Dream,” which he wrote to inspire kids worldwide.
In addition to putting a smile on the kids’ faces, Jackson also visited with his former first-grade teacher — who he shared a warm embrace with.
Officials at the school were pumped over the QB’s visit … tweeting Wednesday afternoon, “It’s a great day at Cypress when NFL Quarterback Lamar Jackson comes to give copies of his book to our students!”
The Ravens need to go ahead and give him his extension.
“Based on individual and team accomplishments alone as a starter, Jackson is more decorated than Watson,” Reed wrote. “Though Watson has one more Pro Bowl nod than Jackson, Jackson has more career wins (37 to 28), including a 2-0 head-to-head record, more career rushing yards and touchdowns, and a league MVP award. All the concrete facts listed above are viable bargaining chips that Jackson and his team can use to drive up his asking price whenever he does decide the time for a new deal is right.”
“You’d better believe Jackson will be looking for something at least remotely similar [to Watson’s deal] in the near future,” Fried wrote. “Will it be a $230 million contract that’s fully guaranteed? Probably not. But with every record-setting contract agreed to, Jackson’s leverage and subsequent price only increases.”
