BSO can confirm that Broncos WR Jerry Jeudy has been arrested.
Arapahoe County Sheriff’s office confirmed he was taken into custody around 11:30 am
Professional football player Jerry Jeudy has been arrested by Arapahoe Co sheriff deputies. He’s being held at the Arapahoe Co jail on charges of 2nd degree criminal tampering w/a domestic violence enhancer, a misdemeanor. He’s on a no bond hold. He’s innocent until proven guilty.
If you a curious what precisely that charge is.
Except as provided in sections 18-4-506.3 and 18-4-506.5, a person commits the crime of second degree criminal tampering if he tampers with property of another with intent to cause injury, inconvenience, or annoyance to that person or to another or if he knowingly makes an unauthorized connection with property of a utility. Second degree criminal tampering is a class 2 misdemeanor.
Criminal tampering is a class 2 misdemeanor carrying up to 120 days in jail and/or up to $750 in fines.
The domestic violence enhancer would likely up the fines and minimum time in jail.
BSO spoke with a lawyer who said this sounds like there was some sort of argument, and Jeudy potentially damaged some property but did not physically touch the person he was arguing with. The Domestic Violence Enhancer is because Jeudy has a relationship with the person he is accused of damaging their property.
There likely won’t be any jail time. Jeudy will probably have to pay a fine and do some community service, and they will send him on his way if he accepts a plea deal. As far as the NFL, it will depend on what exactly Jeudy did before we can get an idea of what type of punishment Juedy might face from the NFL and Roger Goodell.
Jeudy is expected to be Russell Wilson’s #1 WR this season if he can stay healthy. He will have to say Ciara’s prayer to make sure he has healthier relationships.
