Photos of Larsa and Scottie Pippen and Larsa reuniting to celebrate their son Scotty Pippen Jr. after joining the Lakers have gone viral. The ex-couple put their differences aside and linked up to celebrate their son’s NBA journey.
According to Side Action;
21-year-old Scotty Pippen Jr., the son of Larsa and six-time NBA champion Scottie Pippen, signed a two-way deal with the Los Angeles Lakers. As TMZ Sports reports, Scotty went undrafted in the NBA’s annual two-round selection event earlier this week, though he managed to sign an agreement with his own favorite team later that evening, along with Shaq’s son, Shareef O’Neal.
In celebration of the good news, Scotty Jr. linked up with his parents, who finalized their divorce after three years back in January, to pop a few bottles and express their overwhelming gratitude about the exciting news. One picture shared to Larsa Pippen’s Story shows Scotty crying as he embraced their oldest son along with Justin and Preston.
The NBA Summer League kicks off next month in Las Vegas, spanning from July 7th to the 17th.
What are the chances that Pippen Jr. actually makes the team? It is a long shot, but not impossible.
Among them was Vanderbilt guard Scotty Pippen Jr., who agreed to a two-way contract with the team after he went undrafted. Known as a scorer in college, Pippen will be able to provide some outside shooting and off-the-bounce shotmaking to spruce up the Laker offense.
Even though he signed a two-way deal, Pippen isn’t necessarily guaranteed a spot with the parent team and thus he is focused on competing on both ends of the floor to earn his keep.
“Just continue to keep competing,” Pippen said when asked what he will do to keep his two-way contract. “Bring stuff defensively, bring stuff offensively. Come in and work hard and just compete is the main thing, defensively and offensively.”
NBA teams may have up to two players under NBA Two-Way contracts who will spend the bulk of the season in the NBA G League and not more than 45 days with their NBA team. Two-Way contracts are worth half of a rookie minimum contract — roughly $502,000. Only players in their fourth NBA season or earlier are able to sign Two-Way contracts, which can be for either one or two seasons.
The good news for Pippen Jr. is they like him enough to give him a shot in the G-League and an opportunity to turn that into a full time roster spot. Players on 2-way contracts aren’t eligible for the playoffs unless they are converted to full time roster spot.
You know Larsa is trying to determine who on the Lakers will be her next victim after cheating on Scottie with young NBA players and Future.
