According to Warriors insiders, the Golden State could bring back Kevin Durant with a juicy deal. So, Kevin could be making his way to the Golden States if these claims are anything to go by via TPS;
The news of the Brooklyn Nets and Kyrie Irving contract extensions has brought a whirlwind of speculation surrounding the future of Kevin Durant. The news about Kyrie has also turned into Kevin Durant possibly being traded.
The news was accelerated by a cryptic tweet from Portland Trailblazers center Jusuf Nurkic with just a puzzle piece emoji and a photo-shopped image of Kevin Durant with Damian Lillard in Trailblazers jerseys. Lillard would go on to post that picture on Instagram.
However, Dieter Kurtenbach of the Mercury News noted that the situation in Brooklyn is set to implode, Durant might be set up to make his return back to the Warriors.
“I don’t think they’d give up on that plan now that they’re atop the NBA,” he wrote. “But that’s not to say they won’t discuss it, perhaps even with the Nets.”
Kurtenbach steered clear of offering details, but he noted that the franchise didn’t pick up the idea of a “two-timeline” plan with young talent alongside older veterans until Durant left. His potential return could be enough for the Warriors to back off the idea of developing James Wiseman and Jonathan Kuminga into stars while leaning on younger breakout players like Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole.
“The Warriors always want more, and as truly great as Andrew Wiggins was in the postseason, and as tantalizing as James Wiseman and Jonathan Kuminga might be as prospects, getting the Super Villains back together would be great business on and off the court for the Dubs,” he wrote.
I don’t think the Warriors would ever consider bringing Durant back, but never say never.
