Rapper Fish Scales of Nappy Roots Gets Robbed, Kidnapped And Shot In The Leg At His Own Brewery

According to reports, Nappy Roots rapper Fish Scales got robbed, kidnapped, and shot in the leg at his own brewery and it happened in Atlanta on Wednesday night.

The New York Post got the details of how things went down;

Rapper Melvin Adams Jr., better known by his alter-ego Fish Scales, was leaving the Nappy Roots-owned Atlantucky Brewery at 11 p.m. when two men approached and robbed him at gunpoint.

The assailants forced Scales to drive to his Hapeville home. Once in Hapeville, Scales attempted to escape and was shot in the leg by one of the kidnappers.

The kidnappers then fled, and Scales went to a neighbor’s house for help. Police arrived and Scales was taken to the hospital.

Skinny DeVille, who opened the brewery with Scales earlier this year, told WXIA of Atlanta that a patron was shot outside the bar.

“I am certainly relieved that my business partner and brother Scales is safe and recovering…that is what is most important,” said DeVille. “We are certainly also praying for the patron who was shot outside the establishment.”

The group posted a photo of a posed Scales in a hospital bed, adding that “he is looking forward to getting back to work both on music and brewery.”

The brewery remains closed but should reopen Friday, August 19, according to the Atlanta Eater.
