A video of NFL hall of Famer Michael Irvin trying to stop a bar fight in Texas has been posted on the socials with a bunch of reactions from social media users. How did it happen?
TMZ Sports got it covered;
NFL Hall of Famer Michael Irvin was placed in the middle of a bar fight earlier this week after he arrived back in Texas from filming an episode of ESPN’s First Take. Irvin and a friend stopped by the Knockout Sports Bar in Dallas around 10 P.M. before the pair was confronted with an altercation.
The retired wide receiver and his friend were playing pool when another patron approached them. Irvin’s friend reportedly asked for the man to leave them alone, which led to a heated exchange. Video footage showed Irvin attempting to avoid the situation from escalating by calming the unidentified man down and even hugging him.
Despite Irvin’s efforts, the exchange led to a bar brawl between multiple men, including Irvin’s friend. In the video, the man is seen walking away before turning around and punching Irvin’s friend multiple times. The fight led to a physical altercation between additional men as Irvin, and the other patrons watched.
According to reports, the police were not called and are not investigating the bar brawl.
Finally, some of the combatants left the bar, restoring order to the scene.
It should be noted Irvin was NOT involved in the fight in any way — he was on the other side of the restaurant having a conversation with a server. We’re told he left the venue minutes after the scrap concluded.
We reached out to cops, but they said they were not called to the scene and are not investigating.
Irvin, meanwhile, has yet to publicly comment on the incident.
Smart move by Irvin to not get involved.
