Chiefs Fans Threw Bottles At Raiders Players As They Exit The Field At Halftime

Kansas City Chiefs fans got pissed off and threw bottles at Raiders players as they exited the field halftime as they branded the NFL a ‘joke’ for the penalty.

The Daily Mail got the details;

Kansas City Chiefs fans appeared to throw bottles at Raiders players as they exited the field at halftime following a controversial roughing the passer call on Las Vegas quarterback Derek Carr by Chris Jones.

During the second quarter of the Monday Night Football clash, the Raiders had developed a 17-7 lead when the Kansas City Chiefs appeared to have stopped Las Vegas on a third-and-8.

Chiefs’ star defensive lineman Jones not only sacked Carr but also managed to  dislodge the ball from the Raiders’ quarterback before he hit the ground.

However, the officials swiftly shutdown the Chiefs’ celebrations as they threw a yellow flag, ruling Jones had roughed Carr by landing on him with his full body weight.

The decision led to a field goal for the Raiders, which kicker Daniel Carlson swiftly put through the uprights to extend their lead to 20-7.

In a clip posted to social media, the home fans could be seen launching bottles or cans at the Raiders players and staff as they left the field at halftime shortly after the contentious call.

A Raiders coach appeared to point to spectators and could be seen shouting as he dodged the incoming missiles.

Football fans and former players were equally outraged with the decision on social media as they hit out at the ‘worst ever’.

On fan on social media wrote: ‘Carr technically tackled Chris Jones and Chris Jones called called for roughing the passer??? Force fumble, recovery and penalized. Has to be the worst call, ever #MNF’

Former New Orleans Saints coach Sean Payton also chimed in, saying: ‘Awful call @Chiefs @Raiders game. @NFLOfficiating needs lots of work on roughing the passer!!’
