Micheal Jordan Made Almost 3x More Money In 2022 From Jordan Brand Alone Than His Whole Playing Career

Michael Jordan is one of the most successful athletes in history. Not just in the sport they played but outside of that also.

MJ is so successful that in 2022 alone, he made much more than he made in his 15-year career.

It’s no secret how underpaid MJ was in his career, and it wasn’t until his last couple of seasons in Chicago that he was making what a superstar should make. During his time in the NBA, the six time champion made about $90 million.

That would only be 35% of what he made in 2022 from Jordan Brand alone. According to Front Office Sports and MJ, the trendy shoe brand made around $5.1 billion receives 5% of that, which comes out to $256.1 million almost 3x as much as he made in the NBA.

Here is the breakdown,, and be prepared to have your mind blown.

Nike’s Jordan Brand brought in $5.1 billion in fiscal 2022, and his Airness pockets a reported 5% of that under his deal with Nike. The athlete and apparel company initially linked up in 1984, his rookie year.

  • Based on those figures, Jordan may have earned $256.1 million last year from licensing his name to Nike. His net worth is $1.7 billion, per Forbes.
  • Jordan Brand’s revenue hit $4.8 billion in 2021, up 31% from the previous year’s $3.6 billion.
  • The NBA legend and owner of the Charlotte Hornets made $90 million in salary over his NBA career.

Jordan Brand earned $19.4 billion in revenue over the last five fiscal years.

The smartest thing the Jordan Brand has done is release the retros. Specifically, the varying colors of the original Jordan 1 have been going ham for multiple years now.

Michael Jordan is a billionaire, so he certainly isn’t hurting for any funds, and it doesn’t look like he will be hurting any time soon things to these new figures.
