Former NFL running back Zac Stacy is about to do 6 months of jail time for physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend, in addition to one year of probation. The ruling was made by an Orange County judge in Florida earlier this week. 6 months in jail for two counts of misdemeanor criminal mischief may sound like a lot to some of you. But what if I told you that he most likely got off easy based off the surveillance footage that was posted by JPAFootball on Twitter?
The video begins with Stacy throwing his ex-girlfriend from the couch and into the TV, with the TV coming down on top of her. You can hear the woman saying “listen” and “please” repeatedly. Another angle of the incident comes from the kitchen, that shows Stacy repeatedly throwing punches upside her head prior to throwing her into the TV.
This all happened while their infant child was sitting on the couch, watching it take place. Regarding the charges Stacy pled guilty to earlier this month, the misdemeanor charges were part of a plea deal to have his three counts of domestic violence battery dropped. The man was initially charged with one count of aggravated battery and one count of criminal mischief after surrendering to police in Orlando.
When speaking to Fox News, the victim explained how long the abuse by Stacy has gone on for. She started by saying the physical abuse began in May:
“He has bullied me for so long that, at one point, I believed it was my fault. It’s disturbing and disgusting to see things people have said online about what did I do. I did nothing. I never did anything to deserve something like this – no one could do anything to deserve something like this,” she stated.
It’s not known yet when he’ll start serving his sentence, but the man definitely got off lucky.
