The rumor mill is heating up more and more now that the NFL Draft is a week away.
A new one that has recently emerged is a blockbuster traded involving 49ers QB Trey Lance.
Lance won the starting job in San Fransisco last season and was then injured and that eventually allowed for the emergence of Brock Purdy. No one really knows who will be the starter now between the two.
However, teams seem to think they could land Lance in a trade. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, there have been several teams calling about trading for Lance with the assumption that Purdy is going to be the starting QB.
“The #49ers have received inquiries from several teams looking into potential trade for former No. 3 pick QB Trey Lance. The conversations have been the result of SF fielding the calls, not making them, with teams aware that Brock Purdy is likely the future starter,”
Only time will tell whether or not Lance is traded or if Purdy is even the starter.
