The NFL Draft is here next week, and prospects want nothing more than for everything leading up to the draft to go smoothly.
That isn’t the case for the WR prospect from the University of Louisiana, Michael Jefferson.
Jefferson is expected to go in one of the middle rounds of the NFL Draft, but things leading up to it aren’t going as smoothly as planned. He was involved in a car crash earlier this month while in Alabama, resulting in someone’s death.
Luckily for him, it wasn’t his fault, though. According to police and TMZ who say that the suspect, Charles Dunn, who hit Jefferson in the crash, had alcohol and drugs in his system. Dunn passed away at the scene after the head-on collision, so Jefferson is fortunate not to have the same fate. Especially considering he was going 75 mph.
Jefferson did require multiple surgeries to repair his injuries. Still, it hasn’t been released what those injuries are, and it is unknown if Jefferson will even be able to continue to play football.
It looks like he will be out for the entire 2023 season. We will see if he gets drafted.
