Watch Lou Williams Reveal How Meeting Jay-Z Led To Him Skip College For NBA

36-year-old NBA superstar Lou Williams announced his retirement from the NBA on Sunday, June 18, after winning the league’s Sixth Man award three times and scoring more on the bench than any other NBA player in history. Lou has done impressively well for himself during his just-ended career.

However, while reminiscing on his career, the former baller mentioned that a meeting with LeBron James and hip-hop legend Jay-Z back in his college days spiked his interest in the NBA more and subsequently made him ditch college altogether to concentrate fully on basketball, and here we are today, celebrating a beautiful success story.

According to VladTV;

Lou Williams recently sat down on The Starting Five podcast, where he revealed how a night out with LeBron and Jay-Z, while he was still in high school, led to him skipping college and going straight to the NBA.

He explained, “My thing was, my senior year in high school, I started experiencing things. I had this one night — LeBron and Mav [Carter] introduced me to Jay-Z. I kicked it with Jay for a night, and I went to school the next day. I was looking around the class, like, ‘I’m nothin’ like none of y’all [and] I started experiencing different sh*t.”

Williams added, “So I was like, ‘I’m not going to sit in another classroom after this. I literally can’t do it, you know what I’m saying? I don’t think that’s going to be the path for me.”

Lou chose a path, and he never flinched until he saw that he had reached his full potential. We are proud of a young man who did not let fame cloud him and make him a nuisance. Lou is retiring with an estimated net worth of $16 million, three children, and two or more wives.
