The wife of Patrick Mahomes, Brittany Mahomes, was sent to shreds after she shared a supposed harmless photo of herself petting and swimming with a “domesticated” dolphin.
To animal activists, Brittany’s actions weren’t as harmless as she thought, according to them, dolphins barely survive such domestications. PETA folks continued that the animal was being held against its will, and that exposes it to lots of danger, including illness and sometimes even death so it is no fun for them like Brittany believed and should educate herself and not engage in that act ever again.
According to TPS;
Brittany Mahomes celebrated swimming with dolphins in a recent post, but has since been called out for being ignorant of the conditions in captivity.
Patrick Mahomes’ wife already got blasted by fans, but now has drawn the ire of PETA and animal advocates after posting photos with dolphins. The 27-year-old former professional women’s soccer star shared a photo of her swimming with dolphins and even kissing one of them.
“We know you love companion animals,” the activist org. wrote in a lengthy note on Brittany’s page, “but we hope to see you extend your compassion to marine life too.”
Another added: “Please educate yourself on dolphins in captivity! It is hell for these beautiful creatures.”
PETA points out in its comment that dolphins held in captivity for entertainment can develop ulcers and die prematurely, in addition to contracting illnesses that pass easily from humans to dolphins.
These types of interactions are dangerous for them AND us.”
The wife of the Super Bowl-winning Kansas City Chiefs quarterback is no stranger to dividing opinion on social media, but this latest episode is on an entirely different level.
Mahomes had yet to address the backlash and likely will just allow it to die down and never post about animals again after the major uproar she caused.
The Mahomes family is currently on holiday in Hawaii. Mahomes is simply just trying to enjoy her holiday and clearly loves the creatures, so it is painfully clear she was not trying to offend anybody.
Well, I believe Brittany Mahomes and many more people will not dare to play with animals again before a harmless gesture subject them to a week-long of bashing from “superior animal lovers”.
Update: PETA has gone after Patrick Mahomes' wife, Brittany, after her vacation pictures with Dolphins got posted online.
PETA told Brittany none of it was healthy for the dolphin … adding, "These types of interactions are dangerous for them AND us."
