The Ball family is giving reality TV energy again, and this time it has nothing to do with basketball. The latest family drama comes after LaVar Ball revealed that he and his wife, Tina Ball, have officially called it quits after nearly 30 years together.
According to LaVar, Tina decided she wanted to go her own way. Simple enough, right? Well, not so fast.
Enter Lonzo Ball with a plot twist. He says the story isn’t exactly how his dad told it. According to Lonzo, his mom didn’t simply wake up one day and decide to leave. He claims she was actually forced out, painting a much different picture than the one fans first heard.

“You know, with my wife, Tina decided to go her own way. That’s why you don’t see her right here,” Ball said during an appearance on content creator N3on’s livestream.
“She wanted to go do something else, that’s fine with me. We had our run. We had our run,” Ball continued. “So, even though she had the stroke, and getting older, she would never be like, ‘Oh, man.’ She was always beautiful in my eyes, until you say I want to go do something else.”
LaVar Ball added that he’s dating someone new.
“The fact that if you decide to go this way, I’m gonna go that way. That’s fine. It is what it is, man. Any time you can find somebody you can stay in love with for a really long time… if you can witness that love, that’s good. I had that with her.”
And just like that, the Ball family group chat probably got real quiet.
Lonzo Ball appeared on the “Ball in the Family Podcast” Wednesday and opened up about his dad’s claims that his mom initiated the split.
The eldest Ball brother disagreed with his dad, saying that his mom was “near forced to leave.”
Lonzo Ball said that his parents “obviously don’t (expletive) with each other.”
One thing hasn’t changed, though. The Ball family still knows how to dominate headlines without anyone making a single jump shot.
At this point, the only thing more unpredictable than a LaVar Ball interview is what one of his sons might say right after.
