Conor McGregor has been teasing moving on from his potential return against Michael Chandler and opting for some other contenders from the list. However, that may not be the case.
UFC President Dana White once again shed light on his superstar prodigy- Conor McGregor’s return after the latest Contender Series.
When asked whether Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler is still on, White had a very straightforward response
He said, “I talked to Conor yesterday or the day before and he’s ready to fight. I said, ‘Listen, get in shape, let’s figure this out.”
“Yeah yeah, he’s fighting Chandler [next]. Conor likes to f*** with everybody… Especially his opponents or possible opponents.”
Conor McGregor and Michael Chandler are currently coaching in the TUF Season 31. Meanwhile, the Irishman has already desired to challenge Justin Gaethje for the BMF title post-UFC 291.
Conor McGregor and Charles Oliveira have also been into several social media banters, which seemingly put Michael Chadler out of his radar.
That said Dana White has assured ‘Iron’ of getting a shot at McGregor over everyone next. Hence, fight fans can gear up for that matchup.

Conor McGregor vs Michael Chandler Makes Sense
‘Notorious’ has been inactive for over two years in the UFC. Upon returning against a top-ranked lightweight, he may struggle to notch a win. Meanwhile, Michael Chandler has also been out of action since November 2022.
Michael Chandler has fought four times in the UFC so far and has lost three of those fights. He shall need a big win next to climb up the rankings and Conor McGregor can be the rightful opponent.
Furthermore, both- McGregor and Chandler suffered their latest defeats at the hands of Dustin Poirier. The lightweight division is arguably the most thrilling weight category in the UFC.
If McGregor decides to re-enter the division where he was once a world champion, Michael Chandler can be a perfect for the start. Upon winning the show, Conor McGregor can target other names to rake up his stakes.
