After Aaron Rodgers’ Injury, Tom Brady Responds to Jets Rumors’: “You Already Know”

The second retirement of Tom Brady appears to be for good. In response to a question about potentially joining the New York Jets in the aftermath of Aaron Rodgers’ injury, the seven-time Super Bowl champion said “you already know” the answer on the most recent episode of the Let’s Go podcast (starts at the 44 second mark).

On the one hand, Brady’s answer isn’t a firm “no” and it might raise more concerns about whether or not he would be open to playing for the Jets at some time this year. On the other hand, it doesn’t appear that New York has shown much interest in at least gauging Brady’s enthusiasm.

The Jets won’t get in touch with him to inquire about his interest in making a comeback to the NFL, according to Dianna Russini of The Athletic on September 13.

Can Tom Brady actually return ?

At this point, Brady and the Las Vegas Raiders have not finalised the terms of his May agreement to buy a minority ownership position in the team.

Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network report that there is “no guarantee the process is done” before the league’s autumn meetings in October, when a vote to certify Brady’s ownership of the Raiders might take place.

Brady is free to sign as a player with any of the 32 NFL teams if he so chooses as long as the selling procedure isn’t approved. Because Brady played against the Jets for 20 years while a member of the New England Patriots, Jets supporters are quite familiar with him.
