The Dallas Cowboys dominated the New York Giants on Sunday Night Football, winning 40-0. The Cowboys’ offense was efficient, the defense was excellent, and the special teams were superb.
The Dallas Cowboys crushed the New York Giants on Sunday night, showing they could be contenders for more than just the NFC East title. I mean, they won 40-0, so it’s pretty clear they mean business this season.
The game started with Noah Igbinoghene returning a blocked field goal 58 yards for a touchdown on the opening series. DaRon Bland scored on a pick-6 later in the first quarter, and the Cowboys defense continued to dominate the field.
Dak Prescott, the Cowboys quarterback, played down the win a bit, saying, “It’s the first game. That’s y’all’s job to write whatever statement it needs to be. For us, it’s about not getting ahead of ourselves. Continuing to stay disciplined, to show the discipline. Not only what we did through these four quarters, but taking that and making sure we use it throughout our preparation this week.”
Tony Pollard scored two short touchdown runs, and the Cowboys defense forced three turnovers and sacked Daniel Jones seven times, shutting down New York’s supposedly improved offense. The Cowboys have now beaten the Giants for the fifth straight time and 12th time in 13 meetings.
This victory was the Cowboys’ biggest shutout win in any game, surpassing their 38-0 win over the Baltimore Colts in 1978. And the Giants’ shutout loss was their largest to the Cowboys, ever. They even beat the 35-0 win in 1995, which was also a season-opener in the Meadowlands.
According to some fans of the Dallas Cowboys, there is a particular Only Fans model by the name of Pawg Emily who is considered to be the team’s good luck charm. It is said that she proudly displays a photo of the team’s quarterback, Dak Prescott, on her social media timeline. If you happen to take a look at her timeline, you might find some other interesting things as well.
