We all know that Stephen A. Smith is a perennial figure in the world of sports media. That said, there are times when he engages in non-sports related topics. The man just loves sparking topics that generate engagements. Except when it comes to marriage engagements. He’d rather stay clear from that, and he’s made that fact known on his YouTube show on Thursday.
Stephen A.’s started off, point-blank, by saying he is perfectly happy with being single and having never married. As for his reasons why, he pointed to two men who reported have to pay child support to their ex-wives. Those two men are Jeezy & Kevin Costner:
“So I’m 55-years-old and I’ve never been married and I’m happy about it…I am not upset about being single. Jeezy how filed for divorce from his wife Jeannie Mai after only two years of marriage, former friends are saying she’s after his money.
If Kevin Costner’s monthly child support enables the children to maintain the quality of life he once provided why should he have to pay extra so the wife that he’s no longer with gets to maintain her quality of life? Ya’ll ain’t together!”
His point of emphasis focused on the fact that men have to pay large sums of money in child support. Kevin Costner recently came to an agreement to pay his ex-wife over $60,000 per month in child support, despite her initial demand of $160,000 per month to uphold her lifestyle following their divorce. Something that Stephen A. Smith is firmly against.
At the end of the day, that may very well be how Stephen A. truly feels. He may actually be happy to be single. But his listeners don’t seem to believe him, not one bit.
