Texas Snapping Alabama’s Home Game Win Streak Has CFB Fans Throwing A Virtual Parade

Down goes Alabama, up goes Nick Saban’s blood pressure!

The #11 ranked Texas Longhorns went on the road this week to battle against the #3 ranked Alabama Crimson Tide. Alabama entered Saturday night’s contest as -7 point favorites, with the over/under being 53.5 points. The game, in its totality, did hit the over with 58-points. However, it wasn’t Alabama that covered the spread.

It was Texas, in what was arguably the biggest upset victory of the college weekend. After struggling to get any traction going for 3 quarters, the Longhorns managed to pull off a 34-24 win over the Crimson Tide. Majority of the credit should rightfully go to that Texas defense. Not only did they make life for Jalen Milroe a living nightmare up front, the secondary also came away with some key takeaways that ensured momentum stayed on their side.

Saturday night’s win snaps two different types of Alabama win streaks. One being their 21-home game winning streak. The other being their non-conference home game win streak, which ends at 57. The last time the Crimson Tide lost at home was in 2019 to the Joe Burrow led LSU Tigers.

Fans all over the country have been going crazy on social media, getting their Alabama & Nick Saban memes off as quick as they possibly can. Longhorns improve to 2-0 on the season, while the Crimson Tide fall to 1-1.

That said, if there’s one thing about Saban that we all know, it’s that he doesn’t stay down for very long. He made sure to remind everybody during his postgame media availability:

“This was a test for us. I told the players early in the week last week that this was gonna be a test and we would play a really good team. … And we obviously didn’t do very well. But it’s the midterm, not the final.”

Bama has a chance to quickly put this game behind them, and bounce back against South Florida next week.
