The New England Patriots are in serious trouble after their worst defeat under Bill Belichick occurred on Sunday night.
The New England Patriots were defeated 38-3 by Dak Prescott’s Dallas Cowboys on Sunday at AT&T Stadium. Dallas could have easily won by more if they hadn’t been so cautious on offensive in the final frame.
Belichick substituted Bailey Zappe for starting quarterback Mac Jones late in the third quarter. After the game, Belichick told reporters that Jones had not been benched due of his poor performance and that he was still the starter. Jones is an Alabama product.
According to Doug Kyed of the Boston Herald, Belichick stated
Patriots HC Bill Belichick on benching Mac Jones:
โNo sense in leaving him in the game.โ
Said he wasn't benched for poor performance.
Says Mac Jones will be the starter moving forward.
