After defeating New York in Week 4 to clinch the victory, Kansas City just had one recent injury to report.
The Kansas City Chiefs’ game against the New York Jets turned out to be more difficult than many had anticipated, but Andy Reid’s club prevailed 23-20 on the road.
At the game’s conclusion, there was also mainly good news to report regarding injuries. Reid told the reporters during his post-game press conference that linebacker Cole Christiansen was the only injury he had to mention. According to Reid, the 26-year-old pulled his hamstring.

The injury appears to have happened after a free kick that was awarded after a safety in the second period of the game on Sunday night. The squad quickly declared the former Army linebacker was out for the duration of the game via its official X (previously Twitter) account when he left the game.
Journey of Cole Christiansen
Christiansen entered the league as an undrafted free agent following a four-year college career that saw him accumulate 275 tackles (20.5% for loss), 3.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and an interception. He began his career with the Los Angeles Chargers before joining the Chiefs organization in 2022.
Dave Toub has added the 6-foot-1, 230-pound linebacker to the active roster numerous times this season as a special teams option. He accumulated 16 special teams snaps in the team’s rout of the Chicago Bears in Week 3—representing 64% of all possible reps. He was the only member of the Chiefs’ practice squad to be called up for this weekend’s game.
When Reid speaks on Monday, he might be able to give a bit more insight on Christiansen’s condition. Linebacker Nick Bolton and cornerback Jaylen Watson were both declared out of the Jets game two days earlier to Sunday as Kansas City began Week 4. The Kansas City Chiefs are hoping that their injured players will be able to recover in time for their game against the Minnesota Vikings, which is fast approaching.
