In anticipation of the Tennessee Titans‘ upcoming Week 8 home game against the Atlanta Falcons, NFL fans are adoring the team’s new field layout. The Titans’ game at Nissan Stadium on Sunday will feature the team’s retro Houston Oilers outfits. The football team was founded in Houston, Texas, and played there from 1960 to 1996. In 1997, they moved to Nashville.
The Oilers’ emblem is at midfield, and “Oilers” is written in both end zones as part of the Titans’ redesign of the Nissan Stadium field, which pays homage to the team’s founding principles:

The football team kept the “Oilers” moniker for two years following their 1997 move to Nashville until changing it to “Titans” in 1999. That year, the company advanced to its first-ever Super Bowl, where it was defeated by the St. Louis Rams.
Houston’s ardent and devoted sports fans were devastated by the Oilers’ move to Music City, but they wouldn’t have to wait long for a new football club. The Houston Texans were the 32nd NFL team to be announced in 2002.
The Titans under Mike Vrabel have lost three of their past four games and four of their first six games overall. On a brief week, the Titans will visit the 4-3 Falcons on Saturday before heading to Pittsburgh.
