Given their failures this season, the New England Patriots have decided to release one of their quarterbacks. ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Will Grier has been cut by the Pats.

In September, Grier was added to the team’s active roster off the practice squad of the Cincinnati Bengals. Head coach Bill Belichick did this to add depth behind Mac Jones and Bailey Zappe. Grier has not had a look in despite the offensive setbacks. He hasn’t really participated in a regular season game since joining the Carolina Panthers in 2019.
He will now need to find a new team, but if he clears waivers, he might be able to sign with New England’s practice squad.
