Los Angeles Clippers guard Russell Westbrook got infuriated and had to engage in a heated verbal exchange with a heckler following the Clippers’ 113-104 loss to the Nuggets.
And it took the intervention of the referee and players to calm Russell Westbrook down as it nearly got into something physical.
LBS reports that;
Before the final buzzer sounded, Westbrook was seen responding to an animated fan sitting near courtside who appeared to be taunting the Clippers star.
The incident happened late in the fourth quarter as the Clippers’ loss to the Nikola Jokic-less Nuggets appeared to be imminent.
And this is what Russell Westbrook had to say about the situation after the game.
“The moment that line gets crossed, I won’t allow it no more [sic]. I stood for it for years. Now that my son is old enough to know what’s going on… Now I gotta stand on it”.
Fans will always go the extra mile to piss off players on the court but it’s up to the players to keep their cool and focus on the game. Such hecklings are distractions.
