After three years, the Atlanta Falcons fired Arthur Smith, marking the greatest coaching change in the NFC South. They are by no means the only team in the division making adjustments, though.
Dennis Allen will likely be retained by the New Orleans Saints for another season, but they may make changes to other staff members. The Saints defeated the Falcons on Sunday and finished 9-8, missing the playoffs. Allen spoke to reporters,
“I’m not going to go into any of those details in terms of what changes will occur,”
Regarding the NFL as a whole, one of those adjustments might prove to be contentious. The Saints are thinking about bringing Jon Gruden on board as their head coach for the upcoming campaign, sources tell Jeff Duncan of NOLA.com. Allen said,
“We always consider new ideas,” “ … I do think there’s some things that we do offensively that have proven to work in our league, and I think we want to keep some of those things. And yet, I think we maybe need to look at how we can do things differently, too.”
Can Jon Gruden be hired again ?
In 1998, Gruden was hired as head coach of the Oakland Raiders. However, he was traded to the Buccaneers in 2002, where he helped them win their first Super Bowl, which was coincidentally against the Raiders. After that, he rejoined the Raiders in 2018 and guided them through their 2020 relocation from Oakland to Las Vegas.

Since his resignation as the Raiders coach in 2021 due to the discovery of racist, sexist, and homophobic letters from his time at ESPN, Gruden has not been seen in public.
These emails were discovered during the NFL’s investigation into the Washington Commanders team. Gruden is suing the NFL right now, arguing that his reputation was harmed by the leaks.
According to reports, the Nevada Supreme Court has scheduled a hearing on the matter for this Wednesday.
