Baker Mayfield, the quarterback for the Tampa Bay Bucs, made a game-ending interception on Sunday at Ford Field in the NFC Divisional Round against the Detroit Lions.
He started a rivalry with Detroit Lions safety C.J. Gardner-Johnson last week when he suggested that the Buccaneers would be a stronger team if they had a better quarterback. He even mentioned some of their top players. Gardner-Johnson picked him off in the first quarter.

While fans usually use the social media websites to banter with each other, players fighting it out is becoming more common. Gardner-Johnson criticized Mayfield harshly on Instagram Live following the game. He said
“And I tossed that b**ch back at you, too. I hope you got it, too. Make sure you send that with the jersey.”

The Lions advanced to the NFC championship game for the second time in their history after defeating the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 31–23.
Gardner-Johnson is alluding to the interception he successfully returned for 12 yards, at which point he flipped the ball to Mayfield.
The previous time it occurred, Barry Sanders was in his third season, and it was the 1991 campaign. In 2023 and 2024, it’s an exciting moment to be a Detroit Lions supporter.
