Giants Are Under Bill Belichick’s “Biggest Shadow,” According to Former Jets General Manager Mike Tannenbaum

Perhaps the drama surrounding Bill Belichick‘s free agency is just beginning.

Since the Falcons just hired Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris, there have been less openings for the renowned coach to lead NFL teams. According to insiders, this could mean the Belichick controversy will last for the duration of the upcoming season, particularly at MetLife Stadium.

Following a discussion about Belichick’s exclusion, former Jets general manager Mike Tannenbaum refocused the discussion on 2025. Mike said,

“The biggest shadow he is going to cast is in East Rutherford, New Jersey,” “He has a great relationship with the Mara family. The first time the Giants lose a game, Brian Daboll — whether it’s fair or unfair — is going to have to answer that question every press conference.”

After 24 years, six Super Bowls, and 296 regular-season and postseason victories with the Patriots, Belichick, 71, is leaving the team. He has only conducted interviews with the Falcons, who may have considered him a “short-term play.”
