In the most recent episode of his podcast, The Rush with Maxx Crosby, Crosby talked about the encouragement and disappointment he experienced over the season.

“You wish things would go a certain way, but things happen for a reason,” he said. “You can’t control everything, and at the end of the day, we’re going in the right direction. I was like, ‘Alright, listen. We have one more game, we’re playing Denver, another rival, at home; let’s go make a f—ing statement to go finish the season. That’s where I’m at on a personal level. I know that’s where the guys are in the building, and we’re ready to finish the season the right way.”

“We lost a couple close a– games. We’re 4-4 with AP right now. We lose to Minnesota by three; we lose to the Colts by three. A couple of plays go our way, we make a couple more plays, it’s a whole different story. At the end of the day, it is what it is. You can’t go back and switch the s—. We have to learn from it, go out with a bang, finish the season the right way, go into the offseason with good momentum, and prepare to go dominate next year from start to finish, not wait until it’s too late.”

If the Raiders triumph on Sunday, Pierce will conclude his interim tenure with a winning record, increasing his chances of being named the Silver and Black’s long-term head coach.
