Who Would Win in a Race Between Miami Dolphins ‘Cheetah’ Tyreek Hill and Seattle Seahawks Speed Merchant DK Metcalf?

Tyreek Hill is known as ‘Cheetah’ for a reason. The man is quick – like, scorch the turf quick.

A career at the very highest level has been built around the fact that nobody can catch him once open field is found. When the afterburners go on, it is best to just stand back and admire.

Hill has always been going places in a hurry, with the ultimate prize in NFL circles secured when helping the Kansas City Chiefs to a ticker-tape parade at Super Bowl LIV.

Said showpiece took place at the Hard Rock Stadium, the venue that Hill now calls home with the Miami Dolphins.

Breeze

Mike McDaniel’s side are fancied by many to go all the way in the 2023 season. Anybody expecting South Beach’s finest to reach the end of a path that leads to Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas can take advantage of free bets in outright markets that cover everything from division and conference winners to most touchdown tallies and MVP awards.

The Fins are in contention across all of those categories and have shown that they can breeze past opponents in a number of ways – with speed at the forefront of just about everything that they do.

Whether that be Tua Tagovailoa releasing the ball in under two seconds, Jaylen Waddle screeching down the sideline, or De’Von Achane cutting through the tightest of gaps, much of Miami’s best work is done in the blink of an eye.

They are serious contenders for a first Super Bowl triumph since 1973, with pre-season odds that placed them among the frontrunners continuing to shorten despite the odd question being asked of whether the defensive line can match the efforts of a star-studded offensive unit.

Hill will, fitness permitting, be leading the charge – but what will happen when the dust settles at the end of another grueling campaign?

Maybe fans will be treated to another form of sporting spectacle.

‘Cheetah’ has been running rings around rivals once again, but he has lost his title as the fastest man in the NFL.

Despite clocking 22.01 mph against the New York Giants in Week 5, Chase Brown of the Cincinnati Bengals (22.05 mph) and Seattle Seahawks speed merchant DK Metcalf (22.23) have both gone faster.

It has been put to Hill, by the Dolphins’ wide receiver coach Wes Welker, that he should look to put a sprint race in place with Metcalf.

Hill responded to that suggestion, which was put to him in front of the Hard Knocks cameras, by saying: “I’m not racing nobody. I don’t get paid for that, bruh.”

Attention

Welker went on to say: “If you build the whole platform and everything, you can get sponsors, put up a million-dollar deal or something.” Hill was still not convinced, even with the prospect of a seven-figure prize dangled in front of him.

The obvious question now is: Who would win if Hill and Metcalf were to swap the field for the track?

We may never get the answer in a foot race without pads to weigh them down, despite the attention that such an event would attract.

Hill may change his tune once competitive action is out of the way, who knows? Cheetahs are like leopards, though, in that they never change their spots and the Dolphins’ fearsome No.10 will gladly let Metcalf and Co take his speed titles if he ends up with another ring on his finger come February 11, 2024.
