It appears that Klay Thompson and the Golden State Warriors are about to face a difficult decision. Recently, the four-time champion was removed from a game in the final seconds once more. At Barclay’s Center, the Golden State Warriors were trailing the Brooklyn Nets in the fourth quarter.
Klay Thompson was having a terrible shooting night, going only 4 for 9 overall and 0 for 3 from beyond the arc. Thompson would be substituted out of the game with 7:19 remaining, never to come back in. Not only that, but after Klay’s substituting, the Dubs would go on to win the game that night 98-109, marking a huge reversal.
Shaquille O’Neal talks about Klay Thompson ageing
Shaquille O’Neal, Jamal Crawford, and Candice Parker of TNT talked about Klay Thompson’s deteriorating play after the game. Shaq introduced the subject and shared his thoughts regarding Klay with his fellow analysts:
“When you’re at a 10 most of your career, and you start going to 8, it’s hard to believe…..but you have the mentality that you say ‘Imma get it back…We get older, but you know, Father Time is undefeated…and he can gladly say that he is one of those players that Father Time defeated.”
Shaq continued by saying that he was also vanquished by father time and that at some point he sank into obscurity. LeBron James is the lone player he said Father Time hasn’t caught on to, as he is still windmilling in games despite being forty in a few months.
