Trevor Lawrence maintains his optimism despite the Jaguars’ unlikely opportunity to pursue Tee Higgins. Though it would be shocking if Tee Higgins didn’t play for the Cincinnati Bengals in 2024, NFL supporters still have hope and dreams for their team.
However, there are still many like quarterback Trevor Lawrence of the Jacksonville Jaguars who believe that Higgins coming to Jacksonville would be a perfect fit.
Lawrence told Yahoo Sports’ Jason Fitz on Radio Row:
“I would be very surprised if Cincinnati lets him go. I don’t think that’s going to happen. But if there was an opportunity, it would be great to play with Tee,”
“You know, we’ve texted a little bit back and forth. And the league is funny. You just never know how things are going to work out. So many factors are at play. But of course that’s a guy that I played with that we have a great chemistry. Great player. I would not be upset at all if he came to Jacksonville.”
If Higgins were to miraculously become a free agent and sign with the Jaguars, that would be an incredible result for the Jaguars and Lawrence, but don’t hold your breath.
Could Trevor Lawrence and Higgins playing together actually happen?
Higgins, who has already played with Lawrence, is a young, highly productive player at a crucial position who would move up the Jaguars’ receiving hierarchy.
However, the majority of the top predicted free agents experience the same thing each and every year. Considering the Bengals’ available cap space, Higgins’ likely fate is the franchise tag. The likelihood of that really occurring is very low, but if it does, he would be among the greatest free agent receivers in recent memory.
The likelihood of both Trevor and Higgins playing together would be something of a dram for the Bengals fans. Well dream they must and who knows what might be the case in near future.
