Joe Mixon is no longer with the Cincinnati Bengals, and they have a replacement in place.
NFL Network Insiders Mike Garafolo and Tom Pelissero reported Tuesday night that the Bengals are cutting Mixon and signing former Indianapolis Colts running back Zack Moss to a two-year, $8 million contract.
Mixon’s dismissal, which many had speculated would happen this summer, follows seven seasons and his fourth season with 1,000 yards. In 2021, Mixon—a previous second-round selection—went to the Pro Bowl and assisted the Bengals in winning Super Bowl LVI. Cincinnati now has $6.1 million in salary cap space after using some of the funds for Moss, thanks to the 27-year-old’s departure.

Moss, 26, just finished his best season to date, playing admirably for the Colts in 2023 under Jonathan Taylor. In 14 games (eight starts), he gained a career-high 794 yards of rushing, and he also set a record with five rushing touchdowns. Moss seemed to be getting his bearings after spending the first two or more seasons of his career with the Buffalo Bills.
Moss is in, while Mixon is out in Cincinnati.
