In the team’s loss to Houston, the Cleveland swingman scored a game-high 21 points off the bench, which is a record for him since January 11.
The Cleveland Cavaliers were defeated by the Houston Rockets on Saturday night, 117-103. Even though the Wine and Gold dropped their third straight game, one player on the squad stood out for the most part in the bench.
For the first time in more than two months, swingman Caris LeVert scored a season-high 21 points and dished out seven assists, marking his 12th 20-point performance. Along with one block and three steals, he set a game-high.
The 29-year-old made 8 of 14 (57.1%) field goals, 1 of 4 (25%) three-pointers, and 4 of 5 (80%) free throws from the line. With his 21 points in the game, LeVert surpassed his own record set on January 11, 2024 NBA Paris Game triumph over the Brooklyn Nets, when he also scored 21 points off the bench.
Caris LeVert’s performance goes in vain
Despite missing his lone effort from beyond the arc, he shot 4-for-6 (66.7%) from the field to score eight points in the first half against Houston.

The Cavaliers shot 33.3% from outside the arc and 47.6% from the field as a team, falling short of the opposition 70-54. Conversely, the Rockets made 56.0% of their field goals and 47.6% of their three-pointers.
After that, LeVert scored 13 points in the second half to lead all players. During the last 24 minutes of play, he attempted all five of his free throws while shooting 4-for-8 (50%) from the field and 1-for-3 from beyond the arc. In the second half, he also tied a game-high with four assists.
The Wine and Gold will play the Indiana Pacers on Monday night at 7 p.m. to wrap off their three-game road trip.
