Derrick Henry, a running back with the Tennessee Titans, is allegedly not likely to return to the team where he played for eight seasons.
It looks like Derrick Henry’s time with the Tennessee Titans is drawing to an end. While Jeremy Fowler of ESPN says that a return is doubtful, it is not completely ruled out. On X, the program that was originally known as Twitter, Fowler stated:
“Running back Derrick Henry is unlikely to return to the Tennessee #Titans after a historic eight-year run, per sources, though the door is not completely closed,”

Derrick Henry’s journey so far
After Eddie George’s 10,009 running yards, Henry had accumulated 9,502 yards during his career to tie for second place all-time in the Titans/Oilers franchise’s history. As of right now, he leads the NFL in active rushing yards. In addition, Henry’s 90 career touchdowns rank him tied with Hall of Fame running backs Curtis Martin and Eric Dickerson for 13th place all-time.
Henry was named an Offensive Player of the Year, selected to four Pro Bowls, and once recognized as a first-team All-Pro during his eight seasons with the Titans.
Henry finished the Titans’ 6-11 season with 1,167 running yards and 12 touchdowns in 17 games, while expressing unhappiness with his performance. He also grabbed 28 receptions for a total of 214 yards.
Even though Henry will be 30 in 2023, his yards after contact average of 3.32 was nearly the same as that of Christian McCaffrey, the top running back in the NFL. Pro Football Focus reports that McCaffrey outperformed him with an overall score of 90.2.
