Nate Oats confronted Charles Barkley in a post-game interview Thursday night, just seconds after his Alabama Crimson Tide defeated North Carolina 89-87. Even when Grant Nelson failed in the second half, he triumphed.
With the Tide up 89-87 and.9 seconds remaining, Nelson missed both shots before blocking a UNC desperation heave. Nate said,
“It was great.,” “Grant stepped up. We were able to guard (UNC’s Armando) Bacot better one on one.

Nelson finished with 24 points, including five consecutive free throws before the game’s final seconds, and 12 rebounds. He said,
“All glory to God, first of all, but just this team coming together and battling adversity all season,” It’s a great time to come together and start playing some defense.” “No, definitely not,” “but there will be a lot in Tuscaloosa, but not from me.”
Following his performance on Thursday, Oats was asked if he would consider growing a Nelson-style mustache in the future. Earlier in the day, Barkley believed Alabama couldn’t handle the UNC frontcourt. North Carolina leads the ACC in rebounds with 40.9 per game, headed by Bacot, who averages 10.2. Bacot and Harrison Ingram provide a formidable front-court assault.
"UNC's going down TONIGHT! … When UNC plays, I'm gonna say those bad words."
