At the 2024 NFL Combine, Xavier Worthy, an NFL Draft hopeful, turned a lot of heads.
The former Texas Longhorns receiver set a record for both the quickest time of the day and the fastest 40-yard dash in combine history on Saturday, clocking in at 4.21 seconds.

Worthy’s time is faster than the previous best, 4.22, which was established at the 2017 Combine by John Ross III. He was the third receiver off the board and would go on to be selected No. 9 overall.
Derrik Klassen of Bleacher Report ranked Worthy as the eighth-best receiver in the class, and he was predicted as a third-round pick. Even in a draft class full of talented players like Rome Odunze, Malik Nabers, and Marvin Harrison Jr., Saturday’s performance could help him advance.
Worthy just finished his 2023 campaign with 75 receptions for 1,014 yards and five touchdowns, aiding the Longhorns to their first-ever Big 12 title and College Football Playoff appearance.
The NFL Draft is scheduled to happen in Detroit on April 25–27.
