For good reason, Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders is feeling quite positive about his quarterback position for the 2024 campaign. Shedeur, his son, will be leading the way for the Buffaloes once more.
Sanders talked about his football squad and his son’s future as a professional player at a news conference this week. His confidence that Shedeur would have been a highly sought-after draft pick if he had decided to join the NFL draft this year was unreserved.
According to On3, Sanders claimed: “Shedeur – let’s just get this straight. Let’s get the elephant in the room. Shedeur would have been a high draft pick this year,” “Let’s just stop the foolishness and you get mad when I tell you.”
Sanders was quick to stress that he wasn’t just making an audacious forecast with his statement. He made it clear that his perception of Shedeur’s ability was based on his wide network of NFL contacts, which he had developed during his own stellar playing career.
“The only reason I know that is because don’t you think I know people in the NFL? I’m sorry. I played for how many years, 14? Got a gold jacket at the crib, I think. I think I know some people. You know, the Jerry Jones’, Arthur Blanks. I know some people in the game – the Roger Goodells. I know some people. So, when I speak, I’m not just throwing stuff out of my head. I’m throwing stuff based on knowledge.”
