It appears as though the NBA is entering a new era. Players who have dominated for more than ten years have been eliminated from the postseason far earlier than typical in the NBA Playoffs, as an example of that.
Regretfully, memes can still affect even the game’s legends. After losing in the playoffs, LeBron James, Kevin Durant, and Stephen Curry suffered defeats. They received the same treatment from Cancun.
LeBron James was ridiculed for his NBA Playoffs first-round exit
NBA on TNT popularized the Cancun meme by saying that the team eliminated in the postseason will go on vacation to Mexico.

Since then, the meme has changed, and “gone fishin'” has replaced it. For example, following their loss to the Denver Nuggets the previous night, the Los Angeles Lakers were flown to Galveston, Texas by the NBA on TNT.

It is not something to take too seriously. Ultimately, just one team out of thirty-two wins the NBA Championship.
However, it’s unusual for anyone to witness James, Curry, and Durant all together after just one round. It will take some getting accustomed to.
